Come back to a topic on time

Add a topic on the day you revise it. This planner tells you when to look at it again: after a day, then three days, a week, two weeks and a month. Your entries stay on this device.

How to use this

Add each topic on the day you revise it and say where you are with it now. Whenever you sit down to revise, open this page, work through whatever is under Due today and mark each one honestly. If you would rather be reminded, put the dates in your own calendar with the .ics button under All your topics.

Due today

Nothing due yet. Add a topic you revised today and it will come back here tomorrow.

Coming up in the next two weeks

Nothing else in the next two weeks.

Add a topic

Small enough to review in one sitting, for example "Simultaneous equations" rather than "Algebra".

Where are you with it now?

Sets the first gap after that day: a day if you have just learnt it, a week if you have practised it, a month if it is already secure.

How the gaps work

Each time a topic comes up, try it from memory first: a question, a quick sketch, or explaining it out loud. Then tell the planner how it went.

  • Went well. Each gap gets longer: a day, three days, a week, two weeks, then a month each time after that.
  • Shaky. You get the same gap again, counted from today.
  • Start again. Back to tomorrow, and the gaps build up from there.

Each topic also carries one of the three ticks the paid planners use: learnt while its gap is a day or three days, practised at a week or two weeks, and secure once it reaches a month.

Missed a day? Anything overdue stays at the top until you get to it, and the next gap is counted from the day you actually review it.

All your topics

No topics yet. Add one above and it will appear here.

Downloads a calendar file with each topic's next review as an all-day event. It is a snapshot of today's dates: marking a review here moves the date on this page, not in your calendar, so download it again when dates change.

Loading a file replaces the topics on this page with the ones in the file.

Your entries stay on this device. Nothing you type here is sent to Sessioned. Use "Save a copy as a file" so they are safe if your browser clears its storage.

Removes everything this tool has saved on this device. It cannot be undone, so save a copy first if you want to keep it.
