Verify a tutor's record
Tutors on Sessioned can download a signed record of their teaching history. If someone has given you one, this page confirms whether we issued it and whether anything in it has been changed since.

What a pass does and does not mean
If this page says a record is genuine, it means two specific things and nothing more:
- Sessioned issued it. The signature could only have been produced with our private signing key.
- Nobody has edited it since. Change a single character — a session count, a date, a DBS status — and the check fails.
It is not a recommendation. We are confirming the contents are authentic, not vouching for the teaching. Judge the tutor on what the record actually says, including where it is empty.
You don't have to use this page
A record you can only check by asking us is worth nothing the day we stop answering. So the signature is a standard one you can verify yourself, with no account and no contact with Sessioned — now or in ten years.
Signatures are Ed25519 over the record's JSON with object keys sorted lexicographically, recursively. Our public key:
What is in a record, and what is not
A record carries the tutor's subjects, levels, qualifications, how many sessions they have completed through us, whether we have verified their DBS, and any written feedback parents have left.
It deliberately does not carry parents' names beyond a first name, nor their contact details, nor any student's name, nor a DBS certificate number. The tutor's teaching history is theirs to take with them; the families they taught are not.
