Standards and expectations for all Sessioned tutors. Following these helps you get better reviews, more students, and higher earnings.

🎯 Session quality

Come prepared for every session. Review the student's goals and any materials they've shared beforehand. Have a clear plan and be ready to adapt to the student's needs. End each session with a summary of what was covered and suggested next steps.

⏰ Punctuality & reliability

Be on time for every session. If you need to cancel, give at least 24 hours' notice through the platform. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in account suspension. Students rely on you — consistency builds trust and repeat bookings.

💬 Communication

Respond to student messages within 24 hours. Use the Sessioned messaging system for all communication — this protects both you and the student. Be friendly, professional and encouraging. Never share personal contact details or arrange payments outside the platform.

🛡️ Safeguarding

If you tutor anyone under 18, we strongly recommend holding a valid Enhanced DBS check. Tutors with a verified DBS receive a trust badge on their profile. 💷 Pricing & payments

Set your own hourly rate — there are no caps or minimums. Sessioned charges students a 20% service fee on top of your rate; you receive your full fee, paid weekly via Stripe. Never request payment from students outside the platform — this violates our terms and removes your payment protection.

⭐ Reviews & ratings

After each session, students can leave a review and rating. Higher-rated tutors appear more prominently in search and attract more bookings. Focus on delivering great sessions and the reviews will follow. You can respond to reviews publicly from your dashboard.

🚫 What's not allowed

Do not complete assignments, coursework or exams on behalf of students. Do not share personal contact information or social media accounts. Do not arrange sessions or payments outside Sessioned. Violations may result in permanent account removal.
