Sessioned is an online platform that connects students and parents with expert tutors, coaches and teachers for personalised 1-on-1 sessions. We cover 50+ subjects from GCSE and A-Level revision to interview coaching, music, coding and more.

Search by subject on our homepage, then filter by level, price and availability. You can view each tutor's qualifications, experience, reviews and hourly rate before booking, and message a tutor directly to ask questions first.

No. Searching, booking, messaging and even the video sessions all happen in your browser. No software to install, no apps to download.

Yes. When you sign up you can choose Parent / Guardian and enter your child's name and year group. You manage the account, book sessions and communicate with tutors while your child attends the lessons.

Absolutely. Every tutor profile has Message and Enquire buttons. Ask about their experience, discuss your goals, or check availability before committing to a session.

Safety is our priority. Every tutor's qualifications are verified before they go live, and tutors working with under-18s are encouraged to hold an Enhanced DBS check, shown on their profile. All sessions and messaging happen on the platform so parents keep visibility, and we never share personal contact details between parties.

Each tutor sets their own hourly rate — typically between £25 and £80 an hour. A transparent 20% Sessioned service fee is added at checkout so you always see the full price before you pay. No subscriptions, no hidden charges, no joining fees.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. When you book, you pay the tutor's fee plus the Sessioned service fee; the tutor receives their full fee directly. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe — Sessioned never sees your full card number.

You can cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours may be subject to the full session fee. If you have exceptional circumstances, contact us and we'll do our best to help.

Sessions happen via our built-in video classroom — no Zoom, Meet or Skype needed. When your session is about to start, a Join Session button appears in your dashboard. Both of you can use video, audio, screen sharing and live chat.

Yes. Both the student and tutor receive an email reminder about an hour before the session starts, with the details and a link to join.

If your tutor fails to attend a confirmed session, you'll receive a full refund. Contact us at hello@sessioned.co.uk and we'll resolve it within 24 hours.

Click Become a Tutor and complete the 5-minute application — qualifications, subjects, experience, hourly rate and availability. We review every application within 24 hours; once approved, your profile goes live.

Nothing. It's free to sign up and create your profile. No monthly fees, no listing fees, no commission from your earnings. Sessioned charges students a service fee — your rate is your rate, and you receive it in full.

Tutors receive their full fee via Stripe, paid directly to their bank account weekly (typically every Friday). You can view earnings, payouts and history through your Stripe dashboard from your Earnings tab.

If you'll teach students under 18, a DBS check is strongly recommended and noted on your profile. If you teach adults only, a DBS check is not required. You indicate your DBS status during the application.

Yes. You have full control over your pricing — no caps, no minimums, no restrictions. Set a rate that reflects your experience and change it any time from your Edit Profile tab.

We cover 50+ subjects and skills, including Maths, English, the Sciences, Languages, History, Geography, Psychology, Economics, Computer Science, Music, Art, Interview Coaching, Public Speaking, Coding, Creative Writing and more. Tutors can also add custom subjects.
