Our story

Sessioned was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves access to great teaching. Traditional tutoring is expensive, hard to find, and limited by geography. We built Sessioned to change that — a platform where expert tutors and motivated learners connect for personalised, one-to-one online sessions, wherever they are.

What we do

Sessioned is an online marketplace connecting students with vetted tutors across a wide range of subjects. Students get matched, message, and book tutors directly. Tutors set their own rates, manage their own schedules, and get paid weekly via Stripe. We handle the platform, payments, scheduling and support — so both sides can focus on what matters: learning.

Unlike other platforms, we give tutors full control over their pricing and schedule — no rate caps, no dictated availability, no long contracts. For students, our pricing is transparent: you pay the tutor's rate plus one clear 20% Sessioned service fee, shown before you book. No hidden charges, no subscriptions, no surprises. Every tutor is hand-vetted, with their identity, qualifications and DBS status shown on their profile.
