Language Tutors Online — GCSE, A-Level and Conversational

One-to-one Spanish, French, Latin and German tuition over video, from GCSE and A-Level through to adult conversation. Sessions cover the four skills every UK modern-languages exam assesses — listening, speaking, reading and writing — with the speaking practice an app cannot give you.

Which languages can you actually book?

Only what we can genuinely staff. We would rather show you a short honest list than a long one that sends you to an empty search. Every language with a bookable tutor behind it is below — nothing is left out to keep the list tidy.

Bookable language tutors on Sessioned, 8 October 2026. Rates are what the tutor charges; the 20% service fee is added on top at checkout.

Eleven tutors teach a language. The four rows above account for ten of them — they add to twelve because one tutor teaches French, German and Spanish. The remaining tutor lists languages generally without naming one, so ask before booking. The last column is the range those tutors cover between them, not a promise that each one teaches every level.

Looking for a language that is not listed? Tell us which one — we recruit against real demand, and knowing what people are asking for is how that list grows.

What a language session actually covers

UK modern-language qualifications assess four separate skills, and most students are markedly stronger at some than others. A tutor's first job is working out which of the four is holding the grade back, because the revision that fixes reading comprehension does almost nothing for a speaking exam.

Speaking is the one students dread and the one tuition helps most, because it is the only skill you cannot practise alone. A one-to-one video session is, structurally, a speaking exam that does not count — role plays, photo cards and unprepared conversation, with someone correcting pronunciation as you go.

Listening improves with exposure at the right speed. Reading is largely vocabulary plus exam technique. Writing, at A-Level especially, is where tense accuracy and idiom decide the marks.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a languages tutor cost?
Rates vary by tutor, from £25 per hour. Each tutor sets their own rate based on their experience and qualifications. You can see prices upfront before booking.

How do online sessions work?
Sessions take place via video call on our platform. You and your tutor can see each other, share screens, and use an interactive whiteboard. No software to download — it works in your browser.

Can I try before I commit?
Many of our tutors offer a free introductory session. You can also message any tutor before booking to discuss your goals and see if they're the right fit.

Are your tutors qualified?
Every application is reviewed by hand before a profile goes live, and we turn down more than a quarter of applicants. We don't make blanket claims on their behalf: each profile sets out that tutor's own qualifications and experience, and shows their DBS status — verified by us, on file but not yet checked, or not provided — so you can see exactly what has been confirmed before you book.
